Buckle your seat belt as it will be a bumpy ride. But a journey worth pursuing…
Knowing how to build self confidence in difficult conditions is perhaps one of the most crucial aspects of life because it will directly determine where you’ll be heading in the future. The reason why most of us do not develop this skill is because it directly brings out our flaws out into the open.
Most of us simply do not want to admit that there’s something truly wrong with us and would much rather prefer living life in our own little bubble where everything’s perfect. In my last post, i spoke about the idea that most of us prefer to live comfortably rather than push ourselves. We simply don’t like the idea of the unknown as it forces us to face our fears directly.
The fact is however, life is meant to be challenging. We are by nature adaptable creatures and simply do not appreciate staying comfortable. I’ve come to learn that the best way to achieve and stay happy and fulfilled is to consistently challenge your current standing in life by going the extra mile to achieve bigger and greater things. And most of the time, its is commonly done in the face of adversity.
There are many examples
Perhaps you might fail more times than succeed. You may have peers, family members or friends who will feed you with negative advice to make you doubt in what you’re doing. Or maybe experience depression, causing you to be hard on yourself with what you’re doing and what you’re expectations are. All valid and acceptable reasons.
However, it’s important to realize that while you may be receiving this from the outside world, it’s also important to understand that it’s not because of a person’s lack of confidence or belief in themselves, but because we simply do not want the people we care about to suffer or experience hardship. None of us like to see our loved ones in pain, especially when pursuing a worthwhile goal.
The only way to get over this however is to understand that this is the way things are supposed to be when pursuing goals.
It’s natures order of the world to make a worthwhile pursuit a challenge. Whether it’s through climbing rocky mountains, going to the gym or learning a new skill. If it were easy, chances are, we would either not pursue the goal further or quickly get bored with the activity. Therefore, it is through the task itself that causes us to appreciate and value what we’re effectively doing.
Become aware of the process and why it is the way it is.
Knowing the trials you will go through when starting a new task will make things easier and will no longer seem scary since you’ll now know what to expect. And i firmly believe that it will be a journey which will change the course of your life forever once you decide to get started.
